The former NBA star has sold his custom-built mansion for $14.9 million
Michael Jordan has finally found a buyer for his Highland Park mansion. The former NBA star sold the custom-built home for $14.9 million, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
Jordan first listed the mansion for sale in 2012 for $29 million. He lowered the price several times over the years, and it was most recently listed for $16.5 million.
The mansion is located on a 7-acre lot in Highland Park, Illinois. It has 56,000 square feet of living space, with 9 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms.
The home features a variety of amenities, including a basketball court, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a putting green.
Jordan bought the property in 1991 for $2.8 million. He had it custom-built to his specifications, and it is said to be one of the most expensive homes in the Chicago area.
The buyer of the mansion is a Chinese businessman named Yuan Li. Li is the founder and CEO of the Beijing-based Zhonghong Group, a conglomerate with interests in real estate, energy, and finance.
Li is said to be a big fan of Jordan and the NBA. He is also a collector of luxury homes, and the Highland Park mansion is said to be one of his most prized possessions.
